Real kids from cult Larry Clark film Kids are making a doc about what actually went down
Behind-the-scenes expose on 20th anniversary — Hamilton Harris – the blunt-rolling kid from Larry Clark's seminal film Kids – is raising funds for a new doc that will explore the real lives and stories that inspired the cult classic.

So we’ve already had the great ‘Where are they now?’ story on Narratively, a capsule Supreme collection and a retrospective screening at BAMcinemaFest 2015, but the latest in Kids‘ mania to mark the cult film’s 20th anniversary – a documentary by Kids‘ star Hamilton Harris – looks to be the best development yet.

In a Kickstarter dedicated to raising money for the project – which will feature never-seen-before archive footage and catch-up interviews with lots of the original cast – Hamilton states that the doc has been in pre-production for a couple of years but needs adequate funding to get it up and running.

Hamilton, who’s the kid in the famous blunt tutorial scene (see below), wants the film to honour the legacy and culture that inspired Kids. “We want you to help us tell this story,” he says, “To honor the lives of those we’ve lost. And to make new history about a moment in time.”

There are a ton of incentives to get you to back the project – including original prints by Gunars Elmuts and Ari Marcopoulos – and its currently about halfway to target, with just 48 hours left to go.
