The iconic Mollusk Surf Shop in San Francisco’s Ocean Beach is a temple of stoke. Nestled in the cold and foggy western-most corner of SF, its quirky wooden interior features the handiwork of artists Thomas Campbell and Jay Nelson among other local legends.
Mollusk has now spread up and down the coast, with another two stores in Venice and Silver Lake, but still represents the beating heart of artsy California surf culture.
Mollusk’s new surf short Summer Dreamin matches up filmmaker Jack Coleman with surfer Corey Colapinto.
Coleman emerged briefly from the trenches, where he’s putting the finishing touches to his upcoming film, The Zone.
He caught up with Colapinto for playful session, slipping, sliding, and gliding his logs: a quasi-finless 9’0 Donald Takayama and fully finned 10’1 Ryan Engle.
With a soundtrack from the Allah-Las, it’s a summery edit built for beach bums all over.
