Samuel Sebillaut's short film about Karim Naar is a stand-out — Prime and Fire Selects featured a host of great short documentaries. But we like to play favourites.

Karim Naar is perhaps one of the world’s most innovative breakdancers. The reason why is that is he is battling with incurable Crohn’s disease. He shows how breakdancing has become his way to control his life in short bursts in ‘Je Danse Contre Moi Même,’ a moving short by French director Samuel Sebillaut. Check it out above.

The film came out of the Prime and Fire Selects project, which offered young filmmakers the opportunity to pitch short human-interest films and earn a share of a shooting budget. The remit was broad – short documentaries about specialist sports, anything from cycling to base-jumping.
